Threads of Enchantment
A story woven from patience, yarn, and a love for handmade beauty, crafted in France, inspired by roots in the Philippines.
Every story begins with a first spark. Once upon a time in the lush landscapes of the Philippines, a young girl named Princess discovered a magical world hidden inside simple strands of yarn. At the tender age of 13, she embarked on an enchanting journey into crochet, guided only by curiosity, determination, and the quiet joy of learning by doing.
Self-taught and spirited, she began with small wonders: delicate bracelets that adorned wrists like whispers of sea breeze, snug phone pouches that cradled devices with care, and charming wallets that held secrets in their stitches. With each loop and knot, she learned that crochet was more than craft, it was a way to turn imagination into something real.
Over time, that personal journey blossomed into The Baseline Handicraft, a celebration of slow-making, patience, and the beauty of handmade imperfection.
Each creation is now handmade in a small studio in France, where time moves at the pace of stitches, and every detail matters.
In the dawning of 2019, Princess felt the call to elevate her craft to new heights. With boundless creativity, she expanded her repertoire, whimsical stuffed toys that sparked laughter, gentle baby mobiles that swayed like lullabies, elegant clothes that moved with the wearer’s every step, and decorations that wrapped homes in warmth. From practical bags to poetic keepsakes, her crochet mastery blossomed into a tapestry of endless possibilities.
In 2021, her journey took a new turn as she reached the enchanting landscapes of France, where she now creates and shares her handcrafted wonders with the world, one piece at a time, always made with care.
Behind the scenes, Jérôme keeps the online studio running smoothly, managing the website, organizing the collections, preparing orders with care, and answering messages with warmth. While Princess weaves the yarn, Jérôme weaves the digital thread that guides visitors through this world and helps each parcel arrive safely at its destination.

Slow-Made Wonders
The Baseline Handicraft becomes a place where each piece is made with intention, and every stitch carries a little magic.
Among the many chapters of her craft journey, the friendship bracelets hold a special place. At the time, she was living and working in the Philippines as a Scuba Dive Master, spending her days underwater and her spare moments weaving threads by hand. The bracelets; each one unique in style and design, were displayed at the front of the dive shop where she worked, quietly drawing the attention of passing customers.
What began as small handmade pieces soon found meaning beyond their threads. Scuba-diving friends bought them as symbols of shared experiences, couples chose them as memorabilia of their time together, and travelers often picked up a few to take home as souvenir gifts. They became simple keepsakes, carrying memories of the sea, connection, and place.
One day, those bracelets became a solution in a moment of need. Her father urgently needed his motorbike repaired, and payday was still some time away. Wanting to help immediately, she reached out to a local restaurant with a simple but bold proposal: they would purchase the bracelets to be given to their customers in exchange for experience reviews. To make the deal possible, she offered a discount if they agreed to take one hundred bracelets.
For the next three days, she worked at a relentless pace, making bracelets in between dive shifts. Her hands grew sore, but she pressed on, driven by purpose and care. Completing all one hundred pieces in such a short time became one of her most meaningful accomplishments during that period. The effort paid off, not only did it help her father get the support he needed, but it also proved something important to her: that her handmade work had real value, both emotionally and practically.
This story of the friendship bracelets is not where her craft began, but it is a defining moment, one that reflects resilience, generosity, and the quiet power of creating something with intention.
The mobile phone pouches mark the true beginning of her craft journey. She was around fourteen years old when she first learned to make them, crocheting simple yet practical pieces by hand. Her mother would help sell the pouches, and the earnings became her school allowance, sometimes even helping cover the cost of school supplies. At that age, crafting was already more than a hobby; it was a quiet lesson in responsibility, patience, and self-reliance.
Years later, in 2018, she picked up her hooks again. What started as a return to a familiar craft quickly grew into something more. She began accepting custom orders from friends and colleagues, and eventually from dive customers as well. Each pouch was made with care, shaped by the needs of the person who would carry it, and rooted in the same intention that guided her work years earlier.
These mobile phone pouches are where her craft truly began, and where it gently found its way back to her, reminding her that some skills never leave, they simply wait to be rediscovered.
As her craft evolved, it naturally expanded beyond small pieces and practical items into wearable forms. The crocheted clothing; seen here through a collection of crop tops, represents just a glimpse of her growing body of work. Each piece is different in color, texture, and pattern, shaped by experimentation and personal expression.
These creations reflect the wide range of what she makes. Alongside toys, pouches, and bags, she began exploring accessories and wearables, allowing her craft to move with the body and become part of everyday life. Crocheting clothing challenged her to think differently about form, fit, and comfort, pushing her skills beyond familiar boundaries.
The nine crop tops in this collection are only a few among many designs, but together they tell a story of versatility and creative freedom. They show a maker unafraid to explore, adapt, and grow; using the same hands and hooks to create pieces that are playful, practical, and wearable, all at once.
The magic is in the details. Each stitch is placed with intention, each color chosen to tell a story. We work with soft textures, thoughtful designs, and careful finishing, because handmade is not only about beauty, but about feeling.
This is slow-making at its finest, no rush, no shortcuts, just patient craftsmanship.
“Every stitch is a moment of mindfulness, every piece a small work of art.”
